A free public meeting is being held from 5.30pm on Wednesday in the Hutt City Council building (through the wooden doors closest to the Town Hall) as part of the council’s festivities focusing on 1950s Modernist Movement architecture and culture. Heritage New Zealand’s Alison Dangerfield will give a presentation on ‘Lower Hutt heritage’ as part of a panel of speakers for the evening. Other speakers will discuss engineering solutions for property owners and developers of earthquake prone buildings and legislative changes and the consenting process. |
